AMP Radio features an excellent record feature, making it possible to record a stream as it plays. Use it to record news or sports to listen to later. Record your own song being broadcast by a popular station, for posterity. Record a friend's stream, for playback. The possibilites are endless.
Recording
The first step to recording is for AMP Radio to be playing some sort of streaming audio(not a local file). When AMP Radio is playing, simply hit the "Record" button, and AMP Radio will begin recording. Hitting the "Record" button again will cause AMP Radio to stop recording.
Location
To set where AMP Radio will save the recorded file to, open the preferences. Click the "Input" tab. Now choose "Millennium MPEG Streamer" from the pulldown menu. Choose the recording folder from here. AMP Radio will then record to this location, with the first recording using the base name choosen, followed by "000", then "001" etc. For example, "stream000.mp3", "stream001.mp3" and so on.
Limitations
During the 14 day trial of AMP Radio, the record feature only works for 3 minutes. After 3 minutes the recording will be terminated, and a dialogue box will be shown, indicating that the time is up. After the 14 day trial is over, the record feature will no longer work. This limitation is in place to encourage registration. Also, this limitation is an effort to prevent illegal use of the feature, such as using it to pirate music from a stream.
